Spring Cleaning

Well spring has definitely sprung here in So Cal (okay, so it’s kind of springy all year round). But in honor of spring, I have decided to do some spring cleaning. As I mentioned here, I have been off coffee for 3 weeks now (still hard for me to believe). And have decided to add not only caffeine to my cleansing list but also dairy, red meat, sugar and alcohol. For the month of May I’m going to try my darnedest to stick to my guns and really relish in the detox of junk that I have accumulated in my body for the past 40+ years – bletch! Sugar shouldn't be difficult as I don’t really have a sweet tooth (I say this now). But dairy, red meat and my vino will be a bit more difficult. I’ll keep you posted as to my struggles, today is day 2 and so far so good.

On the literal end, I still have my daughters’ room beckoning me. At least we've cleared out a pathway now! Is there anything that you would like to clean out this spring? What is it and how do you feel about tackling that area?

I am so envious of your sunny weather (reading about it does but a smile on my face - another gray day in England here!!!).

I vowed to eat what I wanted for 6 weeks after giving birth and I am now on 6 weeks and 1 day so healthy eating time for me too (not going to give up the odd glass of wine though - went without in pregnancy!). Good luck with your spring clean and let us know how you get on and how you feel on it...

Also need a serious spring clean of the house - tackling ourt study first! Good luck with your daughters room...

Well, the wine does have antioxidents in it so it does qualify as healthy. As long as you have a healthy dose (that's my problem). Good for you, only allowing yourself 6 weeks, I would have allowed myself 9 months! LOL!

Good luck with the study!

oh jules, i have been a spring cleaning fiend around here lol. and today was no different. (it seems like a never ending task i might add). but i'm starting to feel much better as the house is getting cleaner. doesn't it just make you *feel* better when the house is clean?!

p.s. when i read your comment about squealing with delight about my blog being featured on blisschick's, i died laughing. i was glad i wasn't the only one that squealed with delight :)

I decided to go on a similar cleanse on January 1st...no meat, no dairy, no sugar, no soda, no caffeine, no processed foods. It is now May and I am still on it. I felt so good from eliminating all of that junk from my body that I wanted to continue. I feel great!

Wow Jennifer, that's great that you've done so well on a cleanse and for so long! Good for you!

It's amazing the changes that your body goes thru. I did a cleanse several years ago, and after a few weeks, my thinking got clearer. I'm looking forward to that again!
